Care Home Serving Unhealthy Food Found in Breach of Regulations
A residential care home, Marika House, has been found in breach of legal regulations after a visit from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) watchdog.
The inspection, which took place from August 19 to September 1, found significant issues, including two breaches of legal regulations related to person-centred care and governance.
- The care home provides support to people with learning disabilities and autism, with seven residents living in the home at the time of the inspection.
- CQC inspectors found that care "did not always achieve good outcomes or was inconsistent".
- Residents were not supported to eat healthily and were not always engaged in meaningful activities.
The provider’s internal monitoring systems "failed to identify all of the concerns we found during this inspection and robust action had therefore not been taken to make improvements"
