Ownership Change for Indian Motorcycle
US motorcycle maker Indian Motorcycle has undergone a change in ownership. Polaris, the current owner, has sold a majority stake to Carolwood, a real estate and private equity firm.
According to the deal, Indian Motorcycle will continue to operate as part of Polaris until the transaction is complete, expected to occur in early 2026.
- Manufacturing facilities in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Monticello, Minnesota will transition to the new standalone company.
- The industrial design and technology center in Burgdorf, Switzerland will also transition after the deal is finalized.
Polaris will retain a small equity in the new company.
No official statements have been provided by the companies regarding the sale.
