The Metropolis Foundation has announced the start of construction works on Romania's largest pediatric psychiatry hospital, valued at over EUR 16.5 million.
The new 3,900 sqm facility will be built within Bucharest's "Prof. Alexandru Obregia" Psychiatric Hospital and will include modern wards, medical offices, and therapy rooms.
The initiative comes in response to a worsening pediatric mental health crisis in Romania, with common diagnoses including depression, self-harm, behavioral disorders, substance abuse, autism, and ADHD.
"This investment is not just about raising walls."
