The annual community remembrance service, known as the Tree of Light, will be held on Saturday, December 6, at St. Seaton Hospice at Home. This year's ceremony has been moved forward by a week to coincide with The Good Grief Trust's National Grief Awareness Week.
Visitors are invited to write messages in memory of loved ones and hang them on the remembrance tree. Dedication cards can also be placed on the tree displayed at the Kingfisher Centre. Participants may light a candle to honor those they have lost.
Volunteers from the bereavement support service will attend to provide care and emotional assistance throughout the event. The invitation, previously extended mainly to families of former patients, now welcomes the entire community to join in remembrance.
"Our Tree of Light service offers a moment of reflection in a caring environment for everyone who wishes to remember someone special."
