The Florida men’s basketball team returns to action tonight at 7 p.m. as the Gators host their rival, Florida State.
Under Florida head coach Todd Golden, the Gators are unbeaten against Florida State, holding a 3-0 record in this series, including an 87-74 win last season.
Florida State’s new head coach, Luke Loucks, brings NBA experience from his nine years as an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings. Loucks was part of the Warriors’ NBA championship teams in 2017 and 2018.
“They're taking a lot of the kind of NBA mentality," said Golden. "They're playing in transition a lot. I know that's a goal for them to get a lot of attempts up. They don't settle for any mid-range jumpers. They're trying to get pressure on the rim. And then defensively, they're just switching defenses quite a bit. So I think, you know, just trying to keep teams on their toes, create a little bit of chaos, create some turnovers that'll give them transition.”
The game will be televised on the SEC Network and tips off at 7 p.m.
