Emmy and SAG Award winner Samira Wiley will make her Broadway debut this spring, portraying Claire in the revival of Proof, David Auburn’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play. The production will be directed by Tony Award recipient Thomas Kail and will open at the Booth Theatre on March 31, 2026.
Joining Wiley is Grammy nominee Jin Ha, who returns to Broadway as Hal, performing alongside previously announced Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle.
A Juilliard graduate, Wiley recently appeared in Lynn Nottage’s Intimate Apparel at London’s Donmar Warehouse and previously performed in the National Theatre’s Blues For An Alabama Sky. Off-Broadway, she starred in the 2016 Signature Theatre production of Daphne’s Dive.
Wiley is well known for her television roles, including Poussey Washington on Netflix’s series Orange is the New Black, and for her acclaimed performance in Hulu’s adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale.
She won the 2018 Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama for her work on The Handmaid’s Tale and received three more nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Jin Ha made his Broadway debut in 2017 in Julie Taymor’s production of David Henry Hwang’s M. Butterfly. In 2018, he portrayed Annas in NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, which earned a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
