Videos shared on social media show South Korean singer Hyuna fainting during her performance of the 2011 hit Bubble Pop! at the Waterbomb Macau music festival on November 9. The 33-year-old artist was immediately helped by two backup dancers, and security personnel assisted her off the stage.
The incident has sparked widespread concern about her health. Fans across various platforms expressed worry while waiting for official updates about her condition.
The former member of Wonder Girls, 4Minute, and Triple H addressed fans later that day through Instagram, apologizing and assuring them she was recovering.
“I’m truly sorry. It hadn’t been long since my last performance, but I wanted to show my best side,” she wrote in Korean.
She added that she had no recollection of the moment and regretted disappointing fans who had paid to see her perform.
“I’ll try to build up my stamina and work hard consistently,” she said. “It would be wonderful if everything went smoothly, but I’ll keep trying my best.”
On October 3, Hyuna drew attention after posting about her eating habits and body image on Instagram.
“Hyun-ah, you ate too much,” she wrote, referring to herself in third person. “Let’s pull it together and start a strict diet. You liked being skinny, right?”
The posts reignited discussions among fans about the health pressures on K-pop stars, especially concerning appearance and physical endurance.
Hyuna’s sudden collapse in Macau has renewed concerns about her well-being as the singer reassures fans she’s resting and committed to regaining her health.
