6 shot, 1 killed in trio of NYC shootings Sunday night

Six people were injured and one man was killed during three separate shootings across New York City on Sunday night, according to police reports. The violent series of events spanned the Bronx and Queens, leaving communities shaken as investigations continue.

Triple shooting in the Bronx

Shortly before 9 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call on Brook Avenue between East 142nd and East 143rd Streets in the Mott Haven neighborhood. Inside a building, they discovered three male victims, one of whom was a teenager.

A 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were both shot in the back.
A 29-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police said all three victims were taken to Lincoln Hospital and are in stable condition. The investigation remains active and no arrests have been made.

Double shooting in Queens

About 20 minutes earlier, police responded to another shooting inside a residence on 16th Road between 147th and 149th Streets in Whitestone, Queens.

A 39-year-old man was shot in the left arm.
A 49-year-old woman was struck in the right arm and torso.

Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital and remain in stable condition. Authorities recovered a firearm at the scene, and detectives are continuing their investigation.

“The investigation remains ongoing,” said an NYPD spokesperson.
