Emma Barrie highlighted Ayo’s unique decision to portray her delusional pop star character with a British accent. Sennott noted that Edebiri helped shape the character’s quirks and comedic style, making the role a true collaborative creation. Ayo Edebiri is not the only star in I Love LA garnering praise from Sennott. Leighton Meester, known for Gossip Girl, plays the boss of Sennott's character. In a Bustle interview, Sennott described Meester as an idol turned co-star, showing great admiration for her.
