The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain affecting large parts of South Wales and the south-west of England. The warning began at midday today and will remain in effect until 8am tomorrow.
Heavy and widespread rain is expected in these regions before easing early Wednesday. Forecasters predict up to 40mm of rain in most areas, with some exposed south-facing hills in the Brecon Beacons and Dartmoor possibly receiving over 50mm.
The Met Office advises residents to assess whether their homes are at risk of flooding and to prepare accordingly.

People are also urged to prepare for possible power outages by gathering essential items such as torches, batteries, and phone power packs.
