The iconic Toyota Hilux pickup truck, celebrated worldwide for its durability and occasional military use, has entered the electric era. The ninth-generation model was unveiled in Thailand, marking ten years since the last update.
Toyota focuses on a “multi-pathway approach,” introducing not only an electric version but also a hydrogen fuel cell variant alongside traditional diesel options.
The new Hilux will come in both single- and double-cab configurations, though only the double-cab will be offered in Europe due to market demand.
“Toyota says the new Hilux BEV will be able to go roughly 150 miles (240 kilometers) on a full charge, based on the WLTP cycle.”
