How AI can help fund resilience, not disasters

According to the ITU, AI can help flag key factors across and within financial, economic, social, and natural systems.

In 2024, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) recorded 617 extreme weather events, with 152 classified as unprecedented and 297 as unusual, resulting in over 824,000 displaced people, 1.1 million injured, and 1,700 fatalities.

The numbers are troubling, but they do not capture the full spectrum of impacts and consequences as global climate change takes hold.
