Arc Raiders, a new multiplayer extraction shooter by Embark Studios, sold an estimated 1.6 million copies within the first three days of release. The game reached a peak concurrent player count of 354,836 just a day after launch.
The launch weekend faced significant technical difficulties as the player count surged above 300,000, causing matchmaking and login issues. Servers were down for several hours before fixes were implemented by Embark Studios.
“The servers on Sunday had a wobble. Scrappy must’ve pecked a few wires loose.”
To apologize and thank the players, Embark Studios offered 500 Raider Tokens to everyone who logged in during the launch weekend.
“As a token of our thanks, we’re sending 500 Raider Tokens to all Raiders who logged in on Sunday (2 November).”
This gesture was announced on X as an acknowledgment of the launch challenges and a thank-you to the community.
Arc Raiders launched strongly with impressive sales and player numbers, despite initial server problems that prompted the developer to reward players with in-game compensation.
