Mark Richt, the former Georgia coach and current ACC Network analyst, addressed false reports circulating online about his health. He clarified on social media that he is not hospitalized despite rumors suggesting otherwise.
“Apparently, there’s something out there on the Internet saying that I’m in the hospital,” Richt posted on X. “Lol.”
Richt humorously described how his recent appearance might have led to such misconceptions: “If you had seen me running down the street today, it was so pitiful you probably would have thought I needed to be admitted to the hospital.”
In 2021, Richt publicly disclosed his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease after noticing symptoms. He reassured fans by focusing on his faith and future hope.
“I have been waddling around lately and people have asked me what’s wrong,” Richt explained. “I’ve decided to tell everyone at the same time. I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Truthfully I look at it as a momentary light affliction compared to the future glory in heaven. Thank you Jesus for promising us a future blessing of a glorified body that has no sin and no disease. In the meantime I am going to enjoy the blessings that I do have. See you on the ACC Network!”
Additionally, Richt experienced a heart attack in 2019 but has continued to maintain his positive outlook.
Despite health challenges, Richt continues to engage with fans and football through his work with the ACC Network.
Mark Richt remains a respected figure in college football, candidly sharing his health journey while maintaining his passion for the sport.
