Former Dawgs Coach Mark Richt Denies Hospitalization Rumors

Mark Richt, 65, who led the Georgia Bulldogs from 2001 to 2015, has denied ongoing rumors about his supposed hospitalization.

“Apparently, there’s something out there on the Internet saying that I’m in the hospital. But if you would have seen me running down the street today, it was so pitiful you probably would have thought I needed to be admitted to the hospital. Lol.”

The former coach shared this statement on X (formerly Twitter), saying he is fine and not hospitalized.

Richt previously experienced a heart attack in 2019 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021. During his tenure at Georgia, he achieved an impressive 145–51 record, winning two SEC championships and nine bowl games. Later, he returned to his alma mater, the University of Miami, where he coached from 2016 to 2018.
