Embark Studios’ new premium extraction shooter, ARC Raiders, has achieved a rare feat by increasing its player numbers after the first weekend of release, an unusual accomplishment for multiplayer games.
While many games reach their peak concurrent-player count during launch weekend, ARC Raiders managed to break through that barrier, reaching over 416,000 concurrent players on Steam in its second weekend. This is significantly higher than its initial launch peak of 300,000 players.
To provide context, Battlefield 6 reached over 745,000 concurrent players on Steam at launch, and while it still attracted 426,000 players in a recent 24-hour period, it never exceeded its initial launch peak on Steam.
"Today, ARC Raiders on Steam managed to hit over 416,000! Again, this is just on Steam, and the chances this number is double that is highly plausible if you factor in the PS5 and Xbox Series player bases."
This growth is even more remarkable considering ARC Raiders is an entirely new intellectual property, making the sustained player interest a notable success for Embark Studios.
