The global girl group KATSEYE, whose popularity surged this year, received nominations in two prestigious categories: Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
KATSEYE shared their feelings about the milestone, saying,
“We grew up watching and dreaming about moments like this, and seeing it become real feels surreal.”
They added,
“We’re so thankful to the Recording Academy for this recognition and to all the incredible artists nominated alongside us. We can’t believe this; it’s so inspiring to be in such amazing company. Most of all, thank you to our fans, our Eyekons, for supporting us every step of the way.”
In the Best New Artist category, KATSEYE competes against Olivia Dean, The Marías, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young. Last year’s winner, Chappell Roan, presented this category during the Grammy nomination announcement stream on Friday morning.
KATSEYE's rise has been notable, gaining early attention from the Netflix documentary Popstar Academy, which followed their transformation from hopefuls to international stars.
The group was formed through the YouTube competition series Dream Academy, which united contestants aspiring to create the first global girl group as part of a collaboration between K-pop powerhouse Hybe and Geffen Records.
KATSEYE’s Grammy nominations mark a significant milestone, reflecting their rapid rise and inspiring journey from hopeful talent to recognized global stars.
