Pawn Stars' Rick Harrison suffers another family tragedy as mom dies

Pawn Stars' Rick Harrison Faces Another Family Tragedy

Rick Harrison, known from the reality show "Pawn Stars," is mourning the passing of his mother, Joanne Harrison, who died at the age of 85 in a Las Vegas hospital on Wednesday. The news was confirmed by his representative, Laura Herlovich, who told the Daily Mail that Harrison is handling the loss privately.

The Las Vegas-based businessman and television personality, 60, faced another heartbreaking event last year when his son, Adam Harrison, passed away from an accidental overdose. Adam, one of Rick’s three sons, died at 39 from fentanyl and methamphetamine toxicity on January 19, 2024, according to the Las Vegas coroner.

“Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose. The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously. It seems it is just flowing over the borders and nothing is being done about it. We must do better,”

Rick told TMZ following his son’s death.

After the tragedy, he shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, writing,

“You will always be in my heart! I love you Adam.”

Earlier this year, Harrison discussed coping with his son's death during an interview on the podcast In Depth with Graham Bessinger. His representative noted that Rick continues to keep a close circle of support through this difficult time.
