The annual lantern parade at Winchester Cathedral returns with the theme Light, bright, and sparkling. This theme draws inspiration from Jane Austen’s description in Pride and Prejudice, fitting as the celebration coincides with Jane Austen’s 250th birthday.

Join the Festivities

Celebrate Christmas with Winchester Cathedral through music, lanterns, and the Christmas Market. Participants parade from the cathedral through Winchester, lighting the way back to the cathedral.

The Reverend Canon Dr Roland Riem, Interim Dean of Winchester Cathedral, will select four winners from the parade.
