A Worcester bakery is grieving the loss of Joanna Brown, a cherished employee, as police continue investigating her death.
Joanna Brown, 30, went missing on October 31 after leaving her shift at Bean Counter Bakery Cafe. She was found deceased inside a gray Mitsubishi Outlander near Mount Vernon Street, less than two miles from the bakery, on Monday.
"This is a huge shock, and a terrible personal loss to many of us, our community and our small business. Our goal right now is to support our staff during this tragedy."
In a social media tribute, the bakery remembered Brown as “a leader and a friend,” sharing photos of her smiling with coworkers and holding cupcakes.
"Officials have not released information about how she died or whether foul play is suspected."
Questions for the Worcester district attorney’s office were referred to the police. Nick Stoico can be reached at [email protected].
