Angus Neish of Rodmead, Warminster, celebrated a remarkable day at the Aberdeen Angus National Calf Show by winning both the overall championship and reserve champion male titles.
The supreme champion was Rodmead Edwina B267, who claimed the champion heifer calf and champion heifer titles, impressively shining in her first showring appearance.
"Her success marks a significant achievement in her debut," noted the judges.
Born in February and sired by Rodmead Prague, Edwina was also the overall reserve champion at the Royal Highland Show 2023. Her dam is Rodmead Edwina X096.
The reserve male title went to Rodmead Black Baldero B286, a March-born calf sired by Prague and bred from Alewater Black Bee. Judge Rob Bishop of Warrenho Angus praised his qualities.
Reserve overall was awarded to Keirsbeath Prescot, the champion bull calf owned by Caroline Morton of Low Meryton, Larkhall.
Born in February, Keirsbeath Prescot is by Kilmallie Juggernaut Eric, a bull purchased privately by Caroline's parents, Robin and Nancy Orr. Juggernaut Eric was male champion and reserve supreme champion at this event in 2021.
Angus Neish’s Rodmead cattle dominated the show with top honors awarded to Rodmead Edwina and Rodmead Black Baldero, while Caroline Morton’s bull calf Keirsbeath Prescot earned high reserve recognition, highlighting strong breeding lines and show success.
