Police have condemned the "absolutely unacceptable" behavior of a group of up to 30 youths who targeted them with fireworks in Preston city centre.
The incident occurred over the weekend, with the youths initially aiming fireworks at members of the public and their properties, prompting police to scramble to the scene.
However, upon arrival, the youths began targeting the police instead, with around 25 fireworks aimed at their vehicles, some of which exploded within arm's reach.
As a result, patrols have been increased in the affected areas.
