Cameron Norrie into Metz quarter-finals with win over Arthur Cazaux

Cameron Norrie Reaches Metz Quarter-finals After Beating Arthur Cazaux

Cameron Norrie advanced to the quarter-finals of the Moselle Open in Metz, defeating French player Arthur Cazaux in a tense three-set match.

“Seventh seed Norrie broke home hope Cazaux in the opening game.”

The British player, who recently stunned world number one Carlos Alcaraz at the Paris Masters, fought back from a set down to win 6-7 (1), 7-6 (7), 6-2 after two hours and forty-nine minutes.

Although Norrie took an early lead, Cazaux recovered with a break in the sixth game and claimed the first set after dominating the tiebreak. The second set was evenly contested until Norrie edged out his opponent in another close tiebreak to level the match.

In the deciding set, Norrie found his rhythm, breaking Cazaux’s serve twice and powering through to secure his spot in the last eight.

Djokovic Advances in Athens

Elsewhere, Novak Djokovic reached the quarter-finals of the Hellenic Championship in Athens after defeating Alejandro Tabilo for the first time.

The top-seeded Serbian fired 13 aces and faced only one break point, triumphing 7-6 (3), 6-1 on the hard courts of the Greek capital. This marked the 225th tour-level quarter-final of his career.

Tabilo, ranked 89th, had previously beaten Djokovic twice — in Rome last year and in Monte Carlo this April — but couldn’t repeat the feat this time.
