The Denver Broncos secured a 10-7 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, relying heavily on their aggressive defense despite inconsistent offense and special teams. The game was marked by numerous penalties from both sides.
Denver's defense sacked Raiders quarterback Geno Smith six times, boosting their season total to 46 sacks— the highest number recorded by any NFL team in its first 10 games since at least 1990. This defensive pressure was key to Denver’s success on a challenging, windy night in the Rocky Mountains.
“We’ve got to clean up some of the penalties. We’ve got to clean up the execution and that is an ongoing thing that probably never ends,” said Coach Sean Payton after the close victory.
“Yeah, we’ve got to do better. At some point, 10 points ain’t going to be enough. … We’ve got to find some juice somewhere,” remarked quarterback Bo Nix, who threw for just 150 yards with two interceptions and one touchdown pass.
The Broncos’ stout defensive effort offsets offensive struggles, keeping them at the top of the NFL with an 8-2 record and a growing winning streak.
