Rapper Young Bleed, whose real name was Glenn Clifton Jr., passed away at 51 after suffering complications from a brain aneurysm. He was hospitalized a few days before his death and placed in intensive care on a ventilator, according to TMZ.
Tameka Long, the mother of his 10-year-old son, told the outlet that the aneurysm resulted from internal bleeding. Despite generally good health, Young Bleed had high blood pressure for which he took medication.
"As of November 1st, my dad gained his wings," said his son Ty'Gee Ramon in an emotional Instagram video. "This is a tough topic for me... but I am here to clear up a lot of false narratives."
Ramon confirmed his father’s passing and reflected on his influence in the hip-hop community. The rapper was best known for his hit song “How Ya Do That,” featured on the 1997 soundtrack for the film I'm Bout It.
Young Bleed earned respect in the Southern rap scene for his lyrical style and contributions to early Baton Rouge hip-hop. His death marks the loss of another significant voice in the genre.
