BATON ROUGE – Glenn Clifton Jr., widely known by his stage name Young Bleed, was a respected Baton Rouge rapper recognized for his hit single "How You Do Dat" and his collaboration with No Limit Records.
On October 25, he performed at the Cash Money – No Limit Verzuz concert in Las Vegas. After the show, he joined friends to celebrate and gave another performance. Later that night, he suddenly collapsed.
According to his mother, Florida Allen, doctors informed the family that a brain aneurysm caused him to suffer cardiac arrest.
“Before they could get to him, he was out of oxygen for a while, and that's when they told us that he had no life in the brain,” said Allen.
Clifton passed away on November 1 at age 51. He leaves behind his mother and five children.
“Nobody ever expected him to, you know, not come home; he's never not done that,” said his son, Ty'Gee Clifton.
His family said that he had no major health concerns apart from high blood pressure.
“I'm going to miss him, I'm not mad because he is gone, he left doing what he loved doing,” Allen said.
Young Bleed began his career in Baton Rouge as part of the hip-hop group “Concentration Camp,” founded in 1995.
