Rapper Young Bleed, whose real name was Glenn Clifton Jr., passed away on November 1 after suffering a brain aneurysm. He collapsed at an afterparty following a recent performance in Las Vegas.
"I knew with him being a legend worldwide, a lot of people were concerned for him, so I’m here to confirm as his oldest child, that he has gained his wings. My dad was 51 years old when this happened to him," said Ty’Gee Ramon Clifton, his eldest child, in an Instagram Reel aimed at clarifying false narratives.
Tameka "Madamm Meek" Long, who shares a 10-year-old son with Bleed, told TMZ that he was hospitalized days after performing at ComplexCon’s Cash Money Verzuz No Limit event.
Clifton explained his father had no significant health issues, aside from high blood pressure that he managed with medication. After the Verzuz celebration, Bleed attended an afterparty where his condition suddenly worsened.
"After his huge celebration at the Verzuz, went to an afterparty, and that’s where, you know, everything kinda spiked. … It was more of a natural thing."
Following the collapse, Bleed passed due to the aneurysm and bleeding in the brain. Clifton admitted he was unclear about all the details preceding his father's death but noted, "My dad was never in and out of the hospital." He plans to research aneurysms to gain better understanding.
The Baton Rouge-born artist was known for his hit “Pull It Off” and left a lasting impact on the music community.
