Advanced weather models are hinting at what the early winter season might bring to the UK in terms of snowfall. According to forecasts from Net Weather, it is possible to estimate the UK’s snow risk several weeks in advance.

As the air turns colder, many Londoners wonder when snow will arrive in the capital — though current data suggests they may have to wait a little longer.

Regional Snow Risk

The highest snow probability near London appears around November 16–17, especially across the Midlands and Norfolk, where the risk could surpass 30%.
Scotland shows the greatest snow potential, with up to 90% likelihood in parts of the Cairngorms between November 13 and the days following.
Across England, particularly in the south, any snowfall is expected to be light — less than 1 cm per hour — and unlikely to settle.

Outlook and Forecast

Given the milder and wetter weather forecast for much of November, any snow that does fall is expected to melt quickly. However, brief flurries could appear if temperatures drop further.

“Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are highly uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost,” the Met Office predicts.
