Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is being extradited to Miami to face an attempted murder charge tied to a shooting outside a celebrity boxing event in May, authorities confirmed.
Miami Police stated on Thursday that the 37-year-old Brown was brought from Dubai to Miami. The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed his arrival from Dubai via Newark, New Jersey, where he was booked into Essex County Jail on the same day.
“He was kind of taunting us, saying, I'm safe here, and that's what we interpreted from those videos, but you know what, he was laughing then, we're getting the last laugh,”
Officer Michael Vega, Miami Police spokesperson, added,
“No matter who you are, what power or what money you have, if you commit a crime in the city of Miami, we're going to identify and locate you and bring you to justice.”
Brown’s extradition marks a key development in the ongoing investigation of the incident at the celebrity boxing event.
