During the Rivalry Series game between the Canadian and American women’s national teams on Thursday, fans got their first look at Team Canada’s new hockey jersey for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games. With just three months remaining until the opening puck drop, excitement across the country is building.
The 2026 Games mark the long-awaited return of NHL players to the Olympic stage, their first appearance since Sochi 2014. The recently unveiled player list includes Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon, Sam Reinhart, and Brayden Point.
“Other than Crosby, who stood out in Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014, all of these players will make their Olympic debut.”
The complete men’s roster is expected to be finalized and announced in early January.
Since women’s hockey joined the Olympic program at Nagano 1998, Team Canada has consistently reached the podium, entering Milano Cortina as the defending champions. At Beijing 2022, captain Marie-Philip Poulin became the first player—male or female—to score in four Olympic gold medal games.
The women’s roster for 2026 will also be announced in January, marking the next chapter in Canada’s storied hockey tradition.
The unveiling of Team Canada’s Milano Cortina 2026 jerseys signals the return of NHL players and continued dominance of the women’s team as anticipation builds for the Winter Olympics.
