6th Islamic Solidarity Games to Kick Off in Riyadh

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia will open the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh tomorrow. The event will run until November 21, bringing together athletes from 57 Islamic countries, according to SPA.

The games highlight the Kingdom's leading role in strengthening unity among Islamic nations through sports. This edition marks the return of the Games to Saudi Arabia two decades after the first one was held in Makkah with participants from across the Islamic world.

"This royal patronage highlights the importance of joint Islamic action and the support for cooperation among the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Sport serves as a vital bridge for fostering peace, unity, and understanding."

"We are excited to host over 3,000 athletes competing in more than 22 different sports and are committed to delivering an exceptional event that showcases the Kingdom's organizational capabilities," said Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of both the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association.
