Comedian and Celebrity Traitors champion Alan Carr made light of an awkward moment on the show by joking that he is the father of Paloma Faith’s unborn baby. The pair, who remain on good terms, shared a playful exchange after Carr “murdered” the singer in the game’s first elimination.
Faith recently announced she is expecting her third child. Carr, who went on to win the intense season finale, reflected on the emotional moment during the official Celebrity Traitors podcast, Uncloaked.
“It was so awful, it really hurt,”
he said, expressing regret for turning against his close friend.
“I am so sorry, you know I am,”
he continued, before making a joke:
“I want to tell everyone that I am the father of her unborn child. We had a make-up hug and one thing led to another.”
Faith, watching from the audience, responded playfully:
“I have been known to turn people and it was an enjoyable experience for both of us.”
She assured there were no hard feelings, explaining:
“Observing tonight and going through my whole plethora of hormonal emotions, I feel like the reason Alan won and I was so sad was we all love him so much.”
Finally, she added her support:
“I’m so happy that you won because it was bloody worth it.”
Alan Carr and Paloma Faith turned a tense TV moment into cheerful banter as they laughed off her “murder” in The Traitors and reaffirmed their friendship.
