Spurs' Julian Champagnie Brings Halloween Joy to Young Patients

SAN ANTONIO — Spurs forward Julian Champagnie swapped his jersey for a Scooby-Doo costume this Halloween during a surprise visit to Methodist Children’s Hospital.

Accompanied by the Spurs' mascot, Coyote, Champagnie handed out candy, posed for photos, and interacted with young patients, brightening the hospital's festive atmosphere.

Halloween Traditions at Methodist Children’s Hospital

Each year, Methodist Children’s Hospital transforms with unique themes and elaborate decorations. Staff members wear costumes, and leadership participates in reverse trick-or-treating by going room-to-room handing out treats.

Special Guests and Themed Dogs

This year’s event was highlighted by Champagnie's visit and the presence of the Emergency Services Facility Dogs—Lady, Fresca, and Chanel—dressed respectively as a surgeon, witch, and spider.

"I didn’t make a wish, but it felt like one. It was inspirational to see the actual walking dream. I didn’t think I was this special, but he made me feel like I was." — Jamal Magee, patient

Jamal Magee, one of the young patients, expressed heartfelt gratitude, adding, "I appreciate the hospital for giving me this opportunity."
