Beloved chef’s new Sydney venue promises to blow you away

The British chef famous for his affinity for linen and sauvignon blanc is launching his Australian flagship restaurant. Rick Stein’s debut in Sydney’s dining scene is set to open on December 1.

Located above the sands of Coogee Beach, Rick Stein At Coogee marks a significant part of the multi-million dollar refurbishment of the InterContinental Hotel. This new venue will serve as the local flagship for Rick Stein and his wife, Sarah, who also run regional NSW restaurants Bannisters by the Sea in Mollymook and Bannisters Port Stephens.

“Sydney’s Coogee Beach is the perfect location for our flagship Australian restaurant,” Stein said. “It’s relaxed yet sophisticated, with that incredible connection to the ocean that has always inspired my cooking. For us, this feels like coming home.”

The inaugural menu, curated by head chef Colin Chun (W Taipei), will highlight local and seasonal seafood. The space is designed to accommodate both casual and refined dining experiences, complemented by an adjoining bar.
