A viral video claims to depict the NEOM Stadium, which is planned as part of the Saudi Arabian megaproject, perched atop a skyscraper. However, these images were generated by AI and do not represent the official design.
The striking stadium image has been widely shared on social media since late October. Many users said it showed the stadium planned for The Line, a futuristic city within the NEOM project.
On October 26, Rwandan user Edwin Musoni posted the clip on X, where it quickly gained 3.5 million views. The video shows a football stadium seemingly suspended 1,150 feet (350 meters) above the ground in a futuristic cityscape.
Musoni claimed the venue will be situated 1,150 feet (350 metres) above ground level.
While there is a stadium planned for The Line, the images shared are AI-generated and do not reflect the official project.
Official NEOM project accounts on X and Instagram have no posts or images showing a stadium suspended at such a height. However, a post from December last year does show the NEOM Stadium, which is planned to be built 350 meters above ground.
The viral images mislead viewers by presenting an unreal concept that is not part of NEOM's authentic planning.
Author’s summary: Viral AI-generated images falsely claim to show NEOM Stadium atop a skyscraper, but official plans place it 350 meters above ground, not suspended in the air.
