Mel Tracina on Big Brother Uncut Return
Channel 10 is bringing back the feel of the early 2000s with the new season of Big Brother. The series returns to its roots at Dreamworld, the original location where the first 11 seasons aired between 2001 and 2014.
The Original House and Format
Mel Tracina, the new host, explained the significance of the location change:
“The Big Brother house is synonymous with Dreamworld, so bringing the OG format to its OG location feels right.”
The show is adopting a back-to-basics approach, featuring live nominations and live evictions to capture the classic atmosphere.
No Adults-Only Version This Year
Fans curious about the return of Big Brother Uncut, known for its mature content during the first six seasons, will be disappointed.
“This year there’s no return of Big Brother Up Late (or Uncut),” Tracina said. “We’re keeping it PG.”
A 24/7 live stream of the house will be available, but it will be moderated:
“Again, that will be moderated to make sure that everything we broadcast is up to broadcast standards.”
This decision may disappoint longtime viewers who recall sneaking glimpses of the unfiltered late-night content.
