Manchester United remain unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches but could only secure a draw against Nottingham Forest this weekend as Benjamin Sesko faced difficulties on the pitch.
Since his £74 million transfer from RB Leipzig, Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko has scored two goals and provided one assist in ten Premier League appearances. Despite some promising performances before the international break, including goals against Brentford and Sunderland, he struggled to make an impact against Nottingham Forest.
"I'm no further forward with him. The jury is out. He's well off it compared to the other summer signings that Man United made up front in [Matheus] Cunha and [Bryan] Mbeumo. He looks awkward, he had a couple of really good opportunities in the first half - when balls got played over the top and his touch wasn't quite right. For £80million, you can say he's young, or has a lot of potential and he's only just settling in, but you still want to see a bit more."
Neville expressed his doubts after the Forest match, highlighting that Sesko has yet to fully adapt compared to other recent signings.
On The Rest is Football podcast, Lineker concurred with Neville, noting that Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have integrated well into Ruben Amorim's style, whereas Sesko has only shown flashes of potential.
"I would say they are slightly better. I think they are moving in the right direction."
Sesko’s development at Manchester United is still in progress, with fans and analysts awaiting more consistent performances as he adjusts to his new environment.
Benjamin Sesko's adaptation at Manchester United shows promise but remains inconsistent, with experts agreeing he needs more time to fulfill his potential fully.
