After beginning the 2025-26 season with a 2-5 record, the Sacramento Kings made a roster adjustment by signing free agent Precious Achiuwa, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
To make room for Achiuwa, the Kings waived second-year center Isaac Jones, who was on a $1.96 million club option this season and was set to become a restricted free agent next offseason, according to Spotrac.
The Kings' frontcourt strength has been tested early this season after losing Keegan Murray to a UCL tear in his left thumb. Murray had surgery last month, and the team said his status would be reevaluated the following Monday at the earliest.
Precious Achiuwa, 26, averaged 6.6 points and 5.6 rebounds over 57 games last season with the New York Knicks.
“Isaac Jones was waived to create roster space,” reported Shams Charania, noting the team's recent changes.
Author's summary: The Kings reshuffled their roster and salary cap by signing Precious Achiuwa and waiving Isaac Jones to bolster a frontcourt impacted by injury and improve after a slow start.
