After the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at a Utah University event nearly two months ago, his widow, Erika Kirk, has shared how their children are coping without him. Erika spoke about their family during an interview with Fox News' Jesse Watters.
Erika revealed that her three-year-old daughter and one-year-old son frequently ask about their father. She told her children that Charlie went on a work trip with Jesus following his death.
“Are they still asking, 'where is daddy?'” host Watters asked. “Yes, my daughter continues to ask,” Erika responded. “But it is really sweet because I keep explaining to her a few things. And I said, if you ever want to talk to Daddy, you just look up to sky and start talking to him. He can hear you.”
Fighting back tears, Erika wiped her eyes as she continued:
“And I told her, I said, you know Daddy is in heaven. She goes, 'You think I could go sometime?' I said, 'Baby, we will all go one day. We will all go one day.'”
Erika's heartfelt explanation highlights the innocence of her young daughter as she processes the loss and finds comfort in the idea of talking to her father in heaven.
Erika Kirk shares touching moments of her young children grappling with the loss of their father Charlie Kirk, comforting them with the belief that he is with Jesus and always listening.
