Seven neighbours from Brookmans Park have won a combined £1 million in the People’s Postcode Lottery’s weekly “Millionaire Street” draw. The winning postcode, AL9 6PT, brought remarkable prizes to several households.
Among the winners, 52-year-old Steven Bean promised to donate part of his and his wife Olesya’s share—about a quarter of a million pounds—to support a charity helping adults with learning disabilities.
“The first thing I’m going to do is give some money to a charity who had a bus stolen and burned,” said Steven.
He referred to Camphill Milton Keynes, whose only minibus had been stolen on October 9 and found destroyed a few days later.
“The bus is insured, but it won’t cover the cost of getting a new one. Hopefully other people will give them a few quid too,” he added.
Lucy Davies, head of development at Camphill, shared how difficult the situation has been:
“It has been a very difficult time for our residents who have found this situation very confusing and upsetting.”
Brookmans Park residents shared a £1 million windfall, with one winner vowing to donate part of his prize to replace a charity’s destroyed bus.
