At Ecomondo 2025, the annual European trade fair for ecological transition in Rimini, Italy, seven towering “Super Robots SCART” made from Lamborghini car production offcuts were introduced. Each robot stands over four metres tall and was displayed on the Hera Group’s stand, representing the fusion of design, technology, and recycling.
These giant sculptures highlight a partnership between Automobili Lamborghini and the Hera Group, emphasizing the importance of the circular economy in Italy's industrial sector. Their dual mission is to attract attention and remind visitors that industrial excellence can go hand in hand with smart waste management.
Since 2022, a collaboration with Herambiente, a Hera Group subsidiary, manages the entire special waste cycle at Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese plant. This involves handling approximately 3,500 tonnes of waste annually, with 80% being recovered.
“The objective is clear: to minimise waste while ensuring full traceability through the national RENTRI system, and to promote the reuse of industrial materials in secondary circuits.”
This initiative aligns with Lamborghini's ESG commitments, maintaining carbon neutrality at its site since 2015, despite the doubling of its production area.
Author's summary: Lamborghini’s innovative robots demonstrate how combining advanced design with effective waste management supports sustainable industrial growth and reinforces its carbon-neutral commitment.
