The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) and Toronto Hydro achieved a significant milestone by activating the 500th public electric vehicle (EV) charging station within Canada’s largest municipally owned network. This new charger is located at Green P Carpark 504 on Willingdon Blvd., enhancing city-wide access to EV charging.
Since 2020, Toronto Hydro and TPA have collaborated to expand the city’s EV charging infrastructure. Toronto Hydro initially launched the network of chargers and transferred ownership to TPA in 2023.
“Reaching 500 energized EV charging stations is a testament to what strong partnerships can achieve,” said Jana Mosley, President & CEO of Toronto Hydro.
Scott Collier, President of TPA, emphasized the importance of this expansion in promoting EV adoption and improving accessibility.
“Our mission is clear: to create a seamless mobility experience that delivers on Choice, Ease, and Speed for our customers,” he stated.
This milestone highlights Toronto's commitment to fostering electric mobility through strategic partnerships and expanding infrastructure.
