High winds and power outages have caused disruptions for some students in Cape Breton on Wednesday.

The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) reports that several school buses are cancelled because of windy conditions.
St. Mary’s Education Centre/Academy will have an early dismissal starting at 9:45 a.m. due to a power outage.

Beau-Port School, operated by CSAP, is closed Wednesday because of a power outage affecting the area.
At NDA School, morning bus service is cancelled due to high winds. The school remains open, but bus students must arrange alternate transportation or stay home.
NDA’s management said families will receive updates later about afternoon bus service.
NSCC Strait Area Campus has cancelled classes because of an overnight power outage expected to be restored by 2:00 p.m.
The Wagmatcook Learning Centre will stay open.
