The 31-year-old actress shared with Harper's Bazaar how she managed these negative emotions by connecting with her character’s confidence.
“I shook myself out of it by thinking, ‘It’s not about whether Aimee wants to show her body or not – Chelsea does.’”
Chelsea’s optimistic and spiritual nature helped Aimee feel empowered. She explained that the boundary between herself and her character began to blur, allowing her to adopt Chelsea’s self-assurance during filming.
Aimee also discussed how starring in the popular American show dramatically increased her visibility, leading to frequent trips to Los Angeles for work and media engagements.
Despite the city’s association with glamour and Hollywood fame, Aimee described her personal feelings about Los Angeles in challenging terms.
“I find LA emotionally bulimic, and I say that as an ex-bulimic. It is this super-sized adventure where everyone’s talking about you all the time and you have to talk about yourself all the time.”
