Measures Afoot to Safeguard Rights of Media Workers: Tarar
Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, stated that the government is actively working to protect the rights of media workers. He spoke in the National Assembly in response to a walkout by reporters from the Parliament’s Press Gallery.
Concerns Over Media Worker Dismissals
Tarar expressed concern about the dismissal of media workers by some media houses and assured that this issue will be discussed in an upcoming meeting with media owners.
He said a permanent solution will be crafted to address the problem.
Support for Terminated Journalists
He announced that journalists recently terminated by the platform Nukta will be reemployed within forty-eight hours.
Incident at National Press Club
Regarding the police raid on the National Press Club in Islamabad, Tarar said a detailed report on the matter will be completed by tomorrow.

Five bills were presented today, including:

- The Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government (Second Amendment) Bill, 2025

- The Income Tax (Third Amendment) Bill, 2025
The Chair referred these bills to the relevant standing committees for further consideration.
