Kalispell Angler Terry Krogstad Wins Fall Mack Days

The 2025 Fall Mack Days Fishing Event on Flathead Lake, sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, concluded Sunday with a total of 19,144 lake trout entries, surpassing last year's 18,414.

A total of 335 anglers participated, with 116 submitting one or more lake trout. The catch breakdown was 5,369 entries from Monday to Thursday, and 13,775 from Friday to Sunday. Both periods exceeded 2024's harvest of 3,811 and 14,603 respectively.

Top Winners and Highlights

Jens Gran of Polson dominated the Mack Days Bucket of Fish contests, winning all three with a combined 93.65 pounds of lake trout.

The top angler title went to experienced fisherman Terry Krogstad from Kalispell, who recorded 1,206 entries with a 57.83 average over 18 days. The top 10 anglers were ranked based on their best 18-day totals:
