the club formerly known as St. George Dragons is a former Australian professional rugby league football club based in Kogarah, New South Wales. Foundation member of NSWRL, dating back to 1908. They achieved notable success with 21 minor premierships and 11 premierships across their history. Notable players include Reg Gasnier, Norm Provan, and Graeme Langlands. In 1999 the team relocated to the Illawarra region and became the St. George Illawarra Dragons, retaining the Dragons nickname. Their home stadium was Kogarah Oval, with a seating capacity of about 22,000. Their development programs supported sustained success in the NRL era. The Dragons name remains a core identity for the Illawarra partnership.
