Tadej Pogačar secured the Stage 19 win on July 24. The Slovenian rider launched an attack on Alpe d'Huez and rode clear of the rest. Only Richard Carapaz managed to get close. Pogačar's group dealt with unwell teammates earlier in the stage but the leader held his form. His lead expanded on the last climbs. Two days prior, Carapaz took Stage 18 just minutes behind.
