Tasmanian authorities have warned that the public is "loving Neil to death" and might lead to the euthanasia of the massive seal if people keep crowding the animal on the coast.
Local reports say Neil's rising popularity brings harmful behaviour, including knocking over kayaks and biting jet skis, after coming ashore and drawing hundreds of onlookers. Authorities are pleaded with the public to give him space.
