The Department for Work and Pensions has announced it will scrap two legacy benefits as the Universal Credit rollout brings in two million additional claimants. Some recipients will see no payment losses during the phase-out.
The DWP has also revised Personal Independence Payment evaluations. In addition, expanded bank checking powers will affect pensioners and claimants. The department is working to resolve historical errors that may entitle older women to State Pension back payments.
